A Community Solar Project with Local Roots
Bolton Orchards, a cherished spot known for its agricultural heritage, is now home to a state-of-the-art solar farm designed to serve the local community. This ground-mounted fixed-tilt solar photovoltaic system is located on a fifty-four-acre parcel of land in Bolton, Massachusetts. Estimated to produce approximately 7,306,800 kWh of output during its first year of production, the project has been in operation since December 2013. With Syncarpha Capital leading the way, we partnered with orchard management and local stakeholders to ensure the project supports both sustainability goals and community needs.
Why It Matters: Benefits for Everyone
Community solar is all about making clean energy accessible to everyone—no rooftop panels required. Through this initiative, Bolton-area residents can subscribe to the solar farm and enjoy significant savings on their electricity bills while supporting local renewable energy. It’s a win-win for the environment and the community.
Here’s what it brings to the table:
- Affordable Clean Energy: Local residents can subscribe to the solar farm and save on their utility costs while reducing their carbon footprint.
- Economic Resilience: The project not only powers homes and businesses but also strengthens the orchard’s operations by diversifying land use.
- Community Pride: By combining sustainability with heritage, the project reinforces Bolton Orchards as a symbol of innovation and tradition.
At Syncarpha Capital, we’re excited to continue leading the way in community solar and creating partnerships that inspire progress. The Bolton Orchards Solar Farm is just one example of how we’re building a cleaner, more connected future.
