Development

Syncarpha has been incredibly successful at understanding the complexities and risks of different renewable energy markets, enabling the Company to make strategic and calculated development decisions and deploy capital to maximize risk-adjusted returns.

Vertically-Integrated Platform

Experience Developing Diverse Project Types

Syncarpha has experience in developing and executing various challenging project types, including environmentally troubled sites with a focus on the distributed generation solar market.

Commercial & Industrial

Projects with a single commercial, industrial, or municipal off-taker

Community Solar

Virtual net metered projects whose electricity has multiple off-takers

Small Utility-Scale

In front of the meter with a utility or utility-cooperative off-taker

Brownfield & Superfund Sites

Projects built on landfills or superfund sites (polluted locations that require long-term remediation to clean up material contaminations).

Landfill and superfund sites require additional permitting and have specific regulations and restrictions that must be adhered to.

Syncarpha has permitted 12 projects (11 are constructed) on environmentally compromised sites including three superfund sites, five closed landfills and several brownfields.

Rooftop & Carports

Solar projects built on a rooftop or as overhead parking canopies

Rooftop and carport projects can require additional permitting, approvals from building owners and structural assessments

Syncarpha began developing rooftop and carport systems early on, including its first project completed in 2010 for the Jets practice facility and carport system in NJ and MA

Ground-Mount

Solar projects build on the ground instead of a rooftop (also referred to as fixed tilt)

Often require additional environmental permitting, town approvals as well as require engineering expertise to manage diverse topographies

Syncarpha has permitted, engineered and constructed a substantial number of fixed tilt systems in the Northeast on sites with challenging topography and limited land

Eagle Nest - 1.2 MW DC solar project using PV tracker technology in Eagle Nest, New Mexico

Trackers

Projects built using PV tracker technology, in which the angle of the panel adjusts to follow the sun for optimal solar radiance

Trackers require more maintenance and relatively flat site conditions

Syncarpha has experience using tracker technology in both warm (NM) and cold (MN) climates. We expect an increasing portion of the portfolio will use trackers in the coming years

Solar Plus Storage

Projects that include a PV system and battery storage

Due to the nascent stage of the battery market, there are relatively few markets that have appropriate incentives to make storage

Syncarpha is a leader in the nascent solar plus storage space, pioneering storage equipment warranties that set the standard for the industry

Wholesale Energy Systems

Projects that sell power in the wholesale markets or to a utility offtake under a PPA

Finding projects within co-op or municipal utilities or finding creditworthy C&I customers who are willing to enter into long term traditional PPAs or financially settled contracts

Syncarpha has significant experience managing projects in the deregulated ISO markets (PJM, NEISO) including PV plus storage systems, that sell energy into the wholesale markets
